It seems like just yesterday when The ÏU MAG launched its first ever issue. But somehow five years and 20 editions have gone by! Congratulations to the entire team, for continuing to inform and entertain with their fun and interesting articles on the world of The Ushuaïa Experience and the island of Ibiza.

Abel Matutes Prats, CEO of the Palladium Hotel Group, Yann Pissenem, founder, partner and art director de Ushuaïa Ibiza, and Massimo Shadi Saab, editor of the magazine The ÏU MAG, presented the launch of the first lifestyle magazine in the history of Ibiza with a really fun snapshot. That first issue had five different covers, one for each DJ that now form part of the history and biography of the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel: Hardwell, Armin Van Buuren, Axwell & Ingrosso, David Guetta and our beloved and ever-remembered Avicii.

The first edition of ÏU MAG came out in June of 2014. In addition to interviews with each of the front-page DJs, the issue featured other celebrities from the electronic music industry and the island of Ibiza. One of these was Ben Turner, who went on to consolidate his IMS Project (International Music Summit) into one of the world’s top music gatherings. 

As if by premonition, the September issue back in that first summer that The ÏU MAG was launched had Marco Carola on the cover. The interview with the legendary DJ was held just days before one of the sets that would become part of the biggest living legends in the Ibiza music scene, the 12-hour set at the 2014 Closing Party of the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel. That event turned the island upside-down! The specialist media managed to make unique recordings documenting what would become a date for the history books of world electronic music. 

Another of the most memorable editions is the September 2015 issue, with George Clooney presenting his new tequila on the cover, and interviews with 30 DJs with ties to Ibiza, revealing all about their eating habits and the culinary roots of the island of Ibiza. 

2016 kicked off with Richie Hawtin on the cover, one of the leading exponents of electronic music, always embracing experimental, state-of-the-art stuff. Back then Hawtin was just starting a new season at Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel. And, as we could see from the 2018 Opening Party ANTS TAKEOVER, the collaboration is still alive and kicking! 

The presentation and inauguration of Hï Ibiza in 2017 was a milestone for The ÏU MAG. That was the year that Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike also featured on the cover of the magazine with one of the TOP summer events: Tomorrowland presents Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Garden of Madness. And, last but not least, the 2018 season. In June, The ÏU MAG kicked off the summer with the most poignant edition of its history, featuring a beautiful farewell tribute to AVICCI. Faithful Ushuaïa Ibiza clubbers everywhere will hold him in their hearts forever.
